On May 31, 2024, a high-level workshop titled "Net-Zero and Climate-Resilient Shipping: Can Greece Lead the Race?" was held at the Goulandris Natural History Museum in Athens, Greece, under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy of Greece. During the event, Alexandros Charalambides from the Cyprus University of Technology presented the MariTech Talent Project, highlighting its objectives and activities.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Goulandris Natural History Museum, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Global Climate Hub, and the Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aeiphoria (AE4RIA). It aimed to explore pathways to accelerate the transformation of the Greek shipping sector toward net-zero emissions and climate resilience.
In this context, the MariTech Collaboration Node was introduced as a platform for stakeholders and participants to provide valuable feedback and insights. The presentation was drawing attention to the opportunity for the participants to provide feedback and input in identifying the challenges for the sector and the needs, especially when it comes to skills of the future.
